Aug. 26: Tales of Winchester Street on walk
“Cabbagetown: Tales of Winchester Street” will take place on Aug. 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The day will begin at 200 Winchester St. with a stroll that will end at 15 Prospect St.
There will be talks about the street’s long history connecting people and institutions, including Riverdale Zoo, Necropolis cemetery, and Riverdale Park, and as the main route between the area and Toronto’s downtown before 1918.
Note: The tour travels mainly on flat sidewalks, but includes one steep hill.
This is a free event, although a donation of $10 is encouraged.
