Community meeting to look into Leaside development
A community meeting to discuss a proposed retirement home and seniors’ condo on Laird Drive is set for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 in the William Lea Room at Leaside Memorial Community Gardens.
Leasiders will be able to share their concerns about the eight-storey retirement home and seven-storey condominium proposed for 146 and 150 Laird Dr.
The proposed buildings, on the west side of Laird Drive south of McRae Drive, would have a combined 284 units and 183 underground parking spaces.
The proposal will incorporate the two-storey heritage building at 150 Laird Dr., which was built in 1928 and was the Durant Motors office building.
The building was designated a heritage property in 2007.
