Going through hoops for a good cause

This was the first year New Visions Toronto held its croquet fundraiser at the Lawrence Park Croquet Club. The September event set a new record, raising about $12,000 for New Visions, which operates 14 homes across the city for children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities.

This year it had 18 teams who played over the whole day, with club members providing instruction, equipment and referees. The majority of players had never played before and signed up to play after learning about the fundraiser.

Nisan supported the effort with a sponsorship of $1,000 as did a family member. Two other sponsorships were received of $750 each, along with many smaller private donations
