Oct. 27: Learn and enjoy contra dancing

Toronto Contra Dance invites new and experienced dancers to join them every second Saturday for contra dancing at St. Barnabas Church, 361 Danforth Ave.

This is caller-led social dancing. The music comes from the Scots-Irish and French Canadian traditions, but is often played with a modern twist.

New dancers are welcome to come to the 7 p.m. beginner’s class. the dance is from 7:30 to 10:30 p..m.

Everyone is welcome: singles, couples, families, LGBTQ friendly.

Pick your price between $7 and $20. Children 16 and under are free.

The next dates are Oct. 27, Nov. 10, Nov 24, and Dec. 8.
