Students and staff at George S. Henry Academy have something to celebrate after winning $25,000 from Staples in an environmental challenge.

George S. Henry Academy has won the 2016 Superpower your School Contest sponsored by Staples. The announcement was made during a surprise assembly at the school in April.

Ten publicly funded schools were chosen by the company to be awarded the prize money from about 630 entrants from across Canada. George S. Henry was the only winning school in Toronto.

The York Mills-area school was recognized for its ecological programs. The prize money will go toward acquiring new technology.
