Monarch Park to host water safety lessons

Teach your kids how to be safe in the water this summer at Monarch Park CI.

The Lifesaving Society is offering free Swim to Survive lessons at the Danforth and Coxwell area school.

The program is for children 3 to 8. Participants will be taught three basic skills in five 45-minute lessons. Skills include roll entry, treading water, and swimming 50 meters (with or without a lifejacket).

The Swim to Survive standard is the minimum skills required to survive an unexpected fall into deep water.

The lessons are offered in one-week sessions from until August 27. Monday to Friday, 9-12 p.m. and 1-2 p.m. To register, fill out a form
and drop it off in person at Monarch Park CI. Registration form can be found at lifesavingsociety.com.
