Arrest for child pornography after police search Riverdale address

A man has been charged with distributing child pornography after Toronto police searched a building near Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East.

Police in the Sex Crimes – Child Exploitation Section executed a search warrant on April 3 and allege a man chatted online using social media to access and distribute material showing sexual abuse of children.

The man allegedly used the names Julia Cole and Cole Raby online.

Nicholas Cooper, 39, of Toronto, has been charged with five counts of distributing of child pornography, five counts of possessing child pornography, five counts of accessing child pornography, and one count of possessing a schedule or substance for trafficking.

He was scheduled to appear in court on April 4.
