Another car fire

A BMW X6 was totalled in an early morning fire in Moore Park on May 30 — nearly three weeks to the minute after 11 cars were torched in an arson spree in nearby Bennington Heights.

The BMW was parked in a driveway on Inglewood Drive, just northwest of Mount Pleasant Road and St. Clair Avenue East, when it went up in flames at about 3:15 a.m. Damage was estimated at $100,000.

The cause of the fire had not been determined as the Town Crier went to press.

Meanwhile, police are still searching for the arsonist who set 11 cars and one home on fire in Bennington Heights on May 9. Damages from those fires, which began at about 3 a.m., was also estimated to be in the six-figure range.
