Man wanted for early morning assault
Police have released a composite sketch of a man after a woman was sexually assaulted near Mortimer and Broadview Aves. last month.
The May 3 incident occurred when a man approached a 28-year-old woman just before 7 a.m., police say. The accused struck up a conversation with the woman and then attacked her.
He is described as 35, about 5-foot-7, with short dark brown hair and an olive complexion. He was wearing a long black trench coat, white shirt and black pants.
Women should be cautious and aware of their surroundings, police say.
ATM bandit charged
A man is facing a slew of robbery and weapons charges after police caught the alleged ATM bandit believed to be responsible for four armed robberies in late May and early June.
Officers were called to a robbery in the Victoria Park and Danforth area around 1 a.m. on June 5 after a man, armed with a knife, allegedly went up to a man at an ATM demanding money and car keys.
The victim reportedly gave him his money but not his keys, and chased after the bandit when he fled the scene.
Police joined the foot pursuit, at which point the man threw a knife under a car.
Officers say the suspect still had the victim’s money in his possession when they arrested him shortly afterwards.
Police say the suspect is also responsible for three other similar robberies that occurred in between May 26 and May 31 in the Scarborough area.
Andrew Dwayne Brown, 24, has been charged with obstructing a peace officer, four counts of robbery, four counts of disguise with intent, four counts of weapons dangerous and assault with a weapon.
