May 19: East-end rain garden crawl

The 2018 Toronto East-end Rain Garden Crawl will be held May 19 from 9 to 11:15 a.m. to coincide with Green Infrastructure week.

This dynamic rain garden tour will include 20-minute mini-workshops on sustainable-living best practices such soil remediation, energy retrofitting, tree planting, permaculture food, and green roof benefits.

The crawl will begin at the northwest corner park area of the Michael Garron Hospital at 825 Coxwell Ave. at Mortimer Avenue, and will move at an easy-going pace with time for questions, swigs from water bottles, and pauses to soak up the green.

This is a free event put on in conjunction with Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, Green Infrastructure Week.
