Danforth restaurant imploring customers to please wear masks

Hollandaise Diner on Danforth Avenue has had to sternly remind its customers to wear masks after experiencing a drop in the practice.

“We have seen a massive decrease in customers wearing masks this weekend,” a post on their Instagram page states.

The restaurant posted the message on Instagram and its website imploring people to wear masks as it has severe consequences to other people and small businesses like them.

“Our industry jobs ranks 83 out of 359 jobs to be most exposed to this virus and everyone wearing a mask decreases our risk of exposure,” reads the post.

The diner has taken into account some people might not be able to wear masks, but suggests they try a scarf or another method of covering up for everyone’s safety.

Hollandaise has been doing what it could to stay afloat these past months after temporarily closing then re-opening for takeout and delivery.

Customers can order groceries on their website and DIY breakfast boxes for pickup and delivery.

Pickup days are Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m and delivery days are on Friday and Saturday for $7. The diner promises to be in touch within 48 hours of your order.
