Indigenous stories featured in this year’s storytelling fest

Founded in 1979, the Toronto Storytelling Festival has grown into one of the world’s biggest celebrations of the arts of voice and story. The festival includes concerts, story talks, and workshops with the finest storytellers from Canada and around the world.

This year, Indigenous storytellers will be a big part of the festival with Yukon Indigenous comedy, stories from the Metis and Chippewa-Cree ancestry.

The festival celebrates diversity. Children, youth and adults are invited for a series of intimate performances, storytalks, workshops, open mics, games and informal conversations.

The event is held on March 2 to 4 and Mar. 19 to 25 at A Different Booklist Cultural Centre, 777 Bathurst St.
