Jan. 28–Feb. 10: Club Fed eatery gives convicts second chance

Dave’s Killer Bread is opening Club Fed, which recreates a prison, including a replica of the company’s co-founder Dave Dahl’s cell during one of his stays in prison.

The dining area is designed as a jail eatery, with menus chained to the tables and wait staff in red jumpsuits. Entrance is gained through metal detectors and past 112 mugshots of actual inmates. Two ex-convicts are employed in the shop.

For the menu, Dave’s Killer Bread has partnered with chef Marc Thuet to curate sandwiches and sides which feature their organic, non-GMO grain breads.

Club Fed opens on Jan. 28 and run until Feb. 10 at 151 Bloor St. West. Hours are weekdays 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
