THINGS TO DO

June 2: Concert explores world of Jules Verne

What can transport you Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea or take you on a trip Around the World in 80 Days? The novels of Jules Verne and now, the music of the Spectrum composers.

With this concert, in partnership with the Alliance Française de Toronto, tribute is paid to one of France’s greatest literary figures and the father of science fiction. Verne’s stories from “Voyages Extraordinaires” inspire new pieces performed by a hand-picked ensemble of Toronto jazz musicians. The addition of Francophone actors, Florian Francois and Genevieve Fontaine, will bring the music to life.

The event takes place at 2 p.m. June 2 at  Alliance Francaise, 24 Spadina Rd.

Adult admission is $20, children $10.

Tickets available online.
