THINGS TO DO

May 1–11: Photo exhibition marks collective’s 10th year

The F8 Photography Collective celebrates its 10th year with an exhibition from May 1 to 11 as part of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival.

The show with the theme Black & White is on at the Queen Gallery, 382 Queen E., just east of Parliament Street.

Participating are F8 members Margit Koivisto, Maureen Littlewood, Catherine MacKinnon, Natalia Shields, Felicity Somerset, Rod Trider, John Wallace and guest artist Selby Shanly.

Exhibiting a range of black & white works that are playful, powerful, and emotional, the f8 Collective’s goal is to challenge the viewer to go beyond an initial response. Photography is the passion that drives them artistically, culturally, and technically. This exhibition explores the artistic visions of its members, of where they are today and where they are going in the future.

You are invited to attend the Artists’ Reception on May 3 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Regular Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 3:30 –7:30 p.m.

Admission is free.
