Nov. 30: Summerhill Orchestra presents Mendelssohn

The Summerhill Orchestra presents Mendelssohn’s “The Italian Symphony” on Nov. 30 at the Church of the Messiah, 240 Avenue Rd.

Also on the program are Sibelius’s “Romance in C,” Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” featuring guest conductor Carlos Vasquez, and Elizabeth Raum’s “Halifax Harbour” featuring the Canadian composer.

Tickets are pay-what-you-can: $5, $10 or $20 each. Hours are 8–10 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.

This is the Season 2 premier for the Summerhill Orchestra with artistic director and conductor Sarah John.
