Publess crawl draws crowds in the Beach

Call them mad but they were mad about craft beers in the Beach on Friday evening. Crowds moved among the 10 stations serving free beer samples from shops on Queen Street East on May 24 as part of the BIA’s Moonlight Madness event. See our full report on Monday.

Moonlight Madness on Queen

Beer sampling at 10 stations featuring local brews is the highlight at this evening’s Beach Village Moonlight Madness. POWER OUTAGE: Toronto Hydro map released on Twitter shows areas affected.

Squirrel caused power outage to 3,800

About 3,800 homes in South Riverdale and Leslieville were without power for most of May 23 — apparently thanks to a squirrel touching a line near a transformer.

The outage was sparked before 8 a.m. Toronto Hydro tweeted it was working on bringing power back in an area defined as Dundas Street East to Unwin Avenue and Cherry Street to Leslie Street. By 7 p.m. Hydro reported it was still trying to restore power to a small number of homes in the area.

Woman sexual assaulted in Upper Beaches home

Police investigating a sexual assault on April 28 are looking for a man whose images were caught on security cameras. A woman was sexually assaulted in her residence in the Upper Beaches area after a man used a ladder at about 3 a.m. to reach her second-floor bedroom. See the story and image in News.
