Menora lighting a first at Davisville
For the first time, a local Jewish organization has lit the menora in midtown.
Chabad Lubavitch on the East Side, which serves the Jewish community along the Mount Pleasant corridor, lit the menorah at Davisville Avenue and Yonge Street on Dec. 13, the second night of Hanukkah this year.
The lighting, a project of the Midtown Yonge BIA was accompanied by a community celebration including live music and hot soup.
