THINGS TO DO

April 11: Orientation for LEAF volunteers

The Deer Park Library is hosting a one-hour orientation for Toronto LEAF volunteers on April 11.

The free event is supported by City of Toronto, Ontario Power Generation, and Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation.

Volunteers play a critical role in helping improve the urban forest. There are various ways anyone 18 or over can get involved depending on skills, interests, and availability.

During the orientation, participants will get an introduction to the urban forest and to the programs LEAF offers. Information will be shared on a variety of volunteer roles such as tree planting leader, stewardship assistant, tree tour assistant, registration assistant, photographer, blog writer and more.

The event runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the library at 40 St. Clair Ave. E.

You can get more information and register at the LEAF website.
