Fundraising in the dark

[attach]1595[/attach]Experience fashion in new ways at the Canadian National Institute for the Blind’s inaugural Visions Gala.

Slated for May 13, the black tie fundraiser is being held at the CNIB centre on Bayview. It’s in support of programs and services for blind and partially sighted individuals.

The theme is ‘fashion in the dark’, a tactile experience featuring works by Canadian designers like Lazares, Comrags, and Gaudet.

The gala will also feature a cocktail reception, dinner and dessert served in the dark, with music by the Alata Harmonia Chorus of Canada, blind pianist Nat Giangioppo and vocalist Becka deHaan. Gord James is emceeing the event. Scot Free of the Zero Gravity Circus, will also perform.

The institute is hosting 300 businesses, community leaders, supporters and clients for the inaugural gala.
