NDP hold early lead in Toronto-Danforth

In the early going of the Toronto-Danforth byelection it looks like the riding may stay orange as the NDP’s Craig Scott is in the lead.

As of 9:15 p.m., Scott is ahead of Liberal Grant Gordon by 589 votes. However, with only 17 polls reporting the race is still too close to call. Conservative candidate, Andrew Keyes is currently running third with 102 votes.

While Toronto-Danforth was held by the late Jack Layton since 2004, the riding was represented by Liberal Dennis Mills for the 16 years previous.

The Town Crier will continue our coverage throughout the night, including the remarks of the leading candidates both on our website and on Twitter @mytowncrier.
