Man injured in Yorkville library stabbing

Police are on the hunt for a suspect after investigators say an unprovoked stabbing at the Toronto Reference Library sent a man to hospital.

Officers were called to the Yorkville-area library on Yonge Street Wednesday at about 11:39 a.m. where they found a 26-year-old man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say a suspect approached the victim, engaged in an unprovoked verbal argument, and then pulled out a knife and stabbed the man.

The suspect is described as a male, between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11, with a thin build, short black hair and black goatee or beard. He was wearing a black long sleeve t-shirt, grey pants and grey running shoes.

He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone spotting the suspect is advised not to approach him, but to call 911.
