Another win for Kathleen Wynne

It seems like voters heeded Liberal Kathleen Wynne’s warning when she told them if they didn’t vote for her that the Progressive Conservatives would be victorious and gave the support she needed to retain her seat.

As of 9:45 Wynne was leading in the popular vote, amassing 58.4 percent of the ballots cast with Progressive Conservative Andrea Mendel-Campbell in second with 29.1 percent. NDP candidate Khaled Ahmed is currently a distant third with 9.6 percent.

While Wynne has been seen as a strong MPP for the riding who defeated ex-PC leader John Tory in 2007, there was some concern that she might be vulnerable after Conservative John Carmichael took the riding from Liberal incumbent Rob Oliphant in May’s federal election.
