Author dispenses career advice

Whatever happened to the career plans we made in junior kindergarten?

Whether it was to be an astronaut or a ballerina, we were young and confident in our career choices.

International career coach Cecile Peterkin helps people get back to their kindergarten ways, minus the finger painting.

After 17 years in operations management in the financial industry, Peterkin was ready for change.

“The company was sold and it gave me the push that I needed,” she said. “I wanted to help people with their career endeavors.”

The career coach recently launched her new e-book, The Elite Career Success Guide, a follow up her previous e-book, The Career Athlete.

Peterkin says the new e-book includes advice on career planning and self-branding, and tips to improve a resume.

“It’s guidelines and suggestions,” Perkin said. “It goes beyond basic skills.”
