Creeds opening second coffee bar in midtown

Creeds Coffee Bar s opening a new location at 1595 Bayview Ave. in mid-January. They’re moving into the former site of the Second Cup, which closed at the end of November.

Creeds Coffee Bar  is currently on Dupont Street, east of Bathurst Street. The Bayview shop will be only the second coffee bar opened by Creeds, Jonah Creed says.

Jonah is part of the latest generation of Creeds who run the business, founded by the famed entrepreneur Eddie Creed.

Residents in the Bayview area can expect a different kind of café experience from what they’re used to, if the Annex location is anything to judge by. Creeds, in business in Toronto for three decades, actually began as a dry-cleaners and the Dupont store still handles that service. The shop is bright and airy and is used as a site for meetings, photo and movie shoots, product launches and private evening events. On the menu apart from the usual coffee shop fare are wine, beer, gourmet sandwiches, salads, baked goods and gelato.
