Frozen yogurt fix

[attach]6630[/attach]When Victoria Dombrower first became a Yogurty’s franchise owner she expected she’d quickly get over her own urge to eat frozen yogurt on a daily basis.

“I loved it so much but I thought, ‘how could I eat it every day?’” she says. “But now I’m going into my fifth month and I’m not sick of it yet and I still have it just about every day.”

In May, the former kids gymnastics club owner opened the first franchised Yogurty’s location in the country, at Yonge Street at Sheppard Avenue. She recently added a second shop at Sheppard Avenue W. and Bathurst Street.

“I would always drive my kids to a Yogurty’s location near our home and one day I decided to walk in and I thought, ‘wow, this is pretty amazing’,” she says.

“It wasn’t just a place for frozen yogurt, it was a gathering and meeting place.”

Although the self-serve frozen yogurt, made from Canadian dairy products, comes in staple flavours like vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, they also have a rotating selection, all of which can be topped with fruit, candies, nuts and cookies.

“The gratitude of the customers, the smiling faces, the positive comments I would say are the biggest highlights of the job,” she says.
“It’s a very rewarding feeling on many levels.”

And Dombrower’s favourite Yogurty’s concoction? Tart flavour with strawberries, chocolate sauce and peanuts.
