Let your lights shine
It’s that time of year again.
Business improvement associations across the city are hosting lighting exchanges in preparation for the holiday season.
Bring your old incandescent light strings to an exchange depot nearest you on the appropriate date and Toronto Hydro will give you a new energy efficient LED light strand.
When decorating for the holidays, LED lights help you save money because they use less electricity.
The Rosedale Mainstreet BIA is hosting a lighting exchange on Nov. 21, 5–6 p.m. at Scrivener Square, near Yonge Street and Summerhill Avenue. Following the light exchange will be the BIA’s first lighting of their Christmas tree.
The Yonge Lawrence Village BIA hosts their lighting exchange on Dec. 5 from noon–3 p.m. at the Scotiabank at 3446 Yonge Street, at Yonge Boulevard. Santa will make his annual visit to the Village on Dec. 5, 12 and 19 to greet shoppers and hand out goodies, including a Yonge Lawrence Village environmental shopping bag.
