After developing a successful brand of eyelash extensions to distribute across Canada, Kristin Smith launched a salon focusing on the face — in particular, the eyes.

KS Beauty Lounges specializes in eyelash extensions, tinting and perming (permanently curling eyelashes), makeup application, and brow shaping and styling.

“We also have a brand new service from the UK — lash glaze — which is a two-week mascara that’s waterproof and smudge proof,” Smith said from the new lounge on Eglinton Avenue West and Warren Road. “It looks like you are wearing mascara for two weeks.”

Smith, who hails from the business side of the beauty industry, importing products from Europe for distribution across North America, is working on having KS Beauty Lounges locations around the world
through business and franchise partners.

The lounge also runs an education-training program for lash artists in eyelash extensions, glazing, tinting and perming.

“I realized there really needed to be a model example in the industry for eye services,” she said.
