Waxing eloquent over new biz

Although Michele Revivo and Inna Rozenfeld only recently opened Waxed Wax Bar, they already had experience as entrepreneurs.
Rozenfeld, who does eyelash extensions, comes from a business marketing background while Revivo, an aesthetician, has several companies including ice cream, potato chip, popcorn and event businesses.

This summer they combined their interests and renovation chops to transform a space on Avenue Road at Melrose Avenue in six weeks.

“It was a store for horse riders so they had walls that were covered with wood, it just looked like a barn basically,” Rozenfeld says. “So compared to what it looks like now, it was a big difference and we pride ourselves that we did it all ourselves.”

The full body wax bar for women and men offers everything from eyebrow to back, chest and Brazilian waxing, eyelash extensions and tinting, bridal event makeup and updos. They also plan on offering Botox and fillers.

“I have a passion for waxing,” Revivo says, adding they hope to open multiple locations. “I could just do eyebrows all day long. I just love doing them and it just makes the face.”

In addition to being involved in community charities and events, a portion of their tweezer sales goes to the Me to We organization.

While they live in Thornhill, Revivo and Rozenfeld chose their location because they had many clients living in the area and thought it was lacking their services. Waxed Wax Bar is also home to a candy bar, with an assortment of goodies to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.

“I wanted to create something that kids could do while they’re waiting for their moms getting their eyebrows waxed and everyone loves candy — adults and kids.”
