What’s makes a good BIA name?
Annex-Dupont group asks residents for input
How do you capture a business community’s identity in a name?
Members of a newly formed Business Improvement Area are looking for help choosing the right name.
The temporarily named the Annex-Dupont BIA incorporates businesses along Dupont Street between Walmer and Davenport Roads. This business area include several restaurants, a Shoppers Drug Mart and LCBO. Geographically, the area encompasses the Dupont subway station, is just south of Casa Loma.
The community is being asked to contribute to choosing a more permanent BIA name by filling out ballots at local shops. The short list of names for the business area include Casa Loma Village, South Hill Village, Dupont Station, Dupont Village and Dupont Station Village.
There are several existing BIAs surrounding the newly formed association including the Bloor Annex BIA, Harbord Street BIA and the Forest Hill Village BIA.
