Chief planner to hear Leasiders’ development concerns
Residents invited to community meeting on Nov. 23
Leaside residents concerned about the pace of development in their neighbourhood will have a chance to share their opinions with Toronto’s chief planner, Jennifer Keesmaat, during a public meeting that will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Leaside Memorial Gardens on Nov. 23.
Ward 26 councillor Jon Burnside is encouraging residents to seize the opportunity, as every development-related document in the city passes through Keesmaat’s department.
“It’s important not only for us to understand her vision, but for her to understand ours,” Burnside says. “There’s still a lot of land (in Leaside) that’s going to be developed, and we need to give her our input and get ahead of that curve.”
