Civitan’s future iced — for now
[attach]2724[/attach]The Don Mills community is still waiting for an answer as the Civitan arena continues to crumble under disrepair. The city is trying to replace the aging Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue facility by 2020, when developer Cadillac Fairview takes over that site as part of its residential redevelopment on Don Mills. But failed attempts at securing land for a new facility has left the project at a standstill, and with no viable alternative to date.
With an election on Oct. 25, Town Crier turned to our local council candidates to find out their ideas about obtaining reliable ice facilities for our community.
As residents of this vibrant neighbourhood, we should be holding our elected officials’ feet to the fire when it comes to this issue. Hundreds of youth are counting on it.
