Concrete slab falls to the ground

A highrise office building near Don Mills Rd. and Graydon Hall Dr. was evacuated this morning after a concrete slab weighing 1,800 kilograms came crashing down from the second storey.

The incident occurred just before 9 a.m. at 240 Duncan Mills Rd. Police say no one was injured.

With concern that further sections of concrete would fall, police evacuated the building.

The city has issued an unsafe order against the building.

With access restricted, tenants can contact the property manager on Monday to enquire about retrieving belongings from inside the building.
