Cops seek North Toronto bank robber

WANTED: Police are looking for this man, who is wanted for the robbery of a bank near Yonge Street and Yonge Boulevard, as well as another in Scarborough.

Toronto police have released images and video of a man wanted for a bank robbery in North Toronto last week.

Investigators say the man entered a bank near Yonge Street and Yonge Boulevard at 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 19, approaching a teller and handing over a note stating he was robbing the bank.

The man then started to pull a gun out of a satchel. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank.

Police say the man is also wanted for a similar bank robbery eight days earlier near Sheppard Avenue East and Midland Avenue in Scarborough. In that case, the man also entered the bank at 6:45 p.m., approaching a teller and handing over a note stating it was a robbery and that he had a gun. The man was given an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank.

He is described as white with a thin build, in his 40s, and 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 tall. He was clean shaven and wears prescription glasses.
