Cyclist uninjured after clipping car mirror on Yonge Street

A cyclist escaped uninjured after being knocked off her bike when she collided with the side mirror of a car early this afternoon on Yonge Street, north of St. Clair Avenue.

The collision occurred in the curbside northbound lane at about 1:15 p.m.

The car’s driver, who would not give her name, was visibly upset as she explained that she thought she had given space between her car and the curb. She said she was worried the cyclist might “take me to the cleaners.”

“I hope she’s okay,” the driver said, adding that she tried to talk to the woman but was rebuffed.

The cyclist was kept in an ambulance as a precaution, but was not expected to be taken to hospital.
