Goodman harassment case adjourned

Former Eglinton-Lawrence school trustee Howard Goodman will make his first court appearance Jan. 15 to answer to charges of criminal harassment and forcible confinement.

At a Dec. 18 hearing defence lawyer Amanda Ross was granted an adjournment until January.

Goodman was arrested Nov. 12 after what police said was an ongoing criminal harassment investigation dating back to the fall of 2013.

Reports suggest the victim is TDSB director of education Donna Quan, with whom Goodman had butted heads several times over financial transparency issues.

In late November, now former trustee Irene Aitkinson said Quan had threatened to “get” Goodman two weeks before he was arrested.

Goodman did not run for re-election in the October municipal election. He was succeeded in Ward 8 by Jennifer Arp.
