Hanukkah toy drive underway
[url=http://www.reveraliving.com/]Revera’s[/url] Pine Villa, Forest Hill Place and Terrace Gardens retirement residences have joined forces to launch a month-long Hanukkah toy drive and fundraiser to benefit families associated with [url=http://www.chailifelinecanada.org/]Chai Lifeline Canada[/url].
Starting Nov. 4, new unwrapped toys and monetary donations will be accepted at each retirement residence. The goal is collect 1,000 toys and raise $1,000.
Chai Lifeline Canada, an affiliate of Chai Lifeline International, began with Camp Simcha, a summer camp for children with cancer.
Today, Chai Lifeline offers many programs and services to help Canadian children and their families cope with life-threatening or lifelong illnesses, and aid can come in the form of a trip, or individual, group and family counselling.
Local schools are set to host raffles and residents can participate by donating and spreading the word.
Toy and monetary donations will be accepted at Pine Villa at 1035 Eglinton Ave. West, Forest Hill Place at 645 Castlefield Ave., and Terrace Gardens at 3705 Bathurst St.
Gift cards are welcome and charitable receipts will be issued on all donations of at least $10. Donors’ names will also be entered into a raffle for a chance to win two tickets to see a live theatre show.
