Man charged in robbery at Rosedale subway station

A 56-year-old man is facing two robbery charges after police allege he robbed ticket collectors at two TTC subway stations.

Police say the man held up a collector at Rosedale subway station at 7:15 p.m. Friday, demanding money and then fleeing the station after the collector complied.

Two TTC security officers caught up with the man outside the station and held him until the Toronto Police Hold Up Squad arrived.

Police allege the man also uttered threats and demanded money from a collector at Wellesley subway station at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 15. The collector in that case complied, and the man fled the scene.

Mohamed Nur Hassan, of Toronto, is facing one count of possession of property obtained by crime, in addition to the two robbery charges.
