March 16–17: Sondheim’s Company in concert

On March 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m., Toronto Musical Concerts presents a staged musical reading of Stephen Sondheim’s Company in Concert.

The concert at Eastminster United Church, 310 Danforth Ave., is to benefit the Canadian Safe School Network.

The Tony Award-winning Company centres on confirmed bachelor, Robert, who contemplates his unmarried state on the eve of his 35th birthday. He interacts with his married friends and various girlfriends to try to reveal the true reason why he is not yet in a committed relationship. These characters force him to question his bachelorhood during a humorous array of interactions.

The staged musical reading features professional musical theatre talents Kevin Achiele, AJ Bridel, Lawrence Cotton, Donna Garner, Ryan Kelly, Lisa Kisch, Lizzie Kurtz, David Lopez, Marisa McIntyre, Anwyn Musico, Leah Oster, Sarah Strange, Geoffrey Tyler, and Christopher Wilson. It is musically directed by Scott Christian.

Tickets are $25, students/seniors and arts workers $20.
