Persian community celebrates Festival of Fire
Toronto's Persian community spreads good cheer with live music, lights and performances at Mel Lastman Square.
Mel Lastman Square was filled with a sea of revellers March 15 as Toronto’s Persian community came out to celebrate Norooz, the Persian new year.
Revellers packed Mel Lastman Square right up to the stage where live music, and a mix of traditional and modern performances took place. The festival also celebrates and marks the beginning of spring.
