Davisville subway station today hosts the launch of the Toronto Royal Canadian Legion’s annual poppy sales campaign.

Students from nearby Davisville Public School are teaming up with many Canadian war veterans and peacekeepers for this year’s launch, which started at 11 a.m. this morning at the collector’s level of the station.

The veterans and peacekeepers will be giving poppies to the students as a reminder of the importance of honouring the many men and women who served Canada.

The launch will also be attended by TTC chair and Ward 16 councillor Karen Stintz, as well as the Royal Canadian Legion’s District D commander, Peter Granny.
