Rash of break-ins prompts command post

Police from 32 Division set up a command post at Ledbury Community Centre last month in response to a rash of midtown break-ins.

At least four occurred within a week and a half in mid-to-late April.

Police from 53 Division said several sterling silver items were taken from a home near Oriole Parkway and Chaplin Crescent on April 11. The next day, a home near Avenue Road and Lawrence Avenue West was broken into, with several pieces of jewellery being taken.

A home on Lytton Boulevard was hit on April 18 or 19. Jewellery, handbags and a passport were stolen.

An April 23 robbery of a home on Bannockburn Avenue saw jewellery, cash and electronics taken.
