Rubel still blowing strong in Yorkville
In his fourth year of concerts at Heliconian Club
For four years now, jazz musician David Rubel has been playing his semi-annual recitals at the Toronto Heliconian Club on Hazelton Avenue in Yorkville.
With 60 people in attendance, David showcased his own talent as well as that of his students of all ages and instruments in his latest appearance at the hall.
Toronto-born saxophonist David Rubel recently released his debut album Into the Dark and has been featured in all of Toronto’s major jazz venues — always playing and promoting jazz.
“The creative freedom that is jazz — that’s very attractive to me,” he says.
