Shiner wins easily
No trouble for the Ward 24 councillor in keeping his seat
Ward 24 residents welcomed back David Shiner as their councillor as he cruised to victory with 52 percent of the vote.
The incumbent beat his closest opponent, Sunny Cho by more than 5,000 votes.
Shiner said that he was overwhelmed by the support he received from voters and is humbled by the opportunity to head back to city hall.
“It has always been an honour and a privilege to represent the people of Willowdale,” Shiner said.
Though Ward 24’s representative remains the same, Shiner is looking forward to working with the fresh faces coming to city hall from across the city.
“I think it’s great to see change. I think that the councillors that are there are terrific,” Shiner said. “I’m there to listen to them and I believe Mr. Ford is there to listen to them, and I think that it’ll be a good council.”
