Senator O’Connor Blues captured the top spot TDCAA Tier 2 baseball back in June with a 4-3 victory over CHAT.
The championship win at Wishing Well Park capped off a perfect 6-0 season, which poured into a 14-1 quarter-final thumping of Archbishop Romero and a 9-8 clutch game against Father Redmond in the semis.
Head coach Pam Joslin credited the strong performance this season to ace pitchers Marvin Estrada and Adam Darrah.
When it came to the final, assistant coach Ken MacDonald was all about strategy, Joslin said.
As for next season, Estrada and Darrah will be back, but some Blues are not returning.
“The team is losing a few veterans but it has a lot of talented young blood coming up,” Joslin said.
