Red Knights down boys in blue

Charity basketball game gets fans and police out

Northern’s senior boys basketball squad hosted Toronto Police Services’ 53 Division in a charity basketball event organized by one of the school’s business students.

The Red Knights won the Feb. 17 match, 55-52 as a couple hundred students cheered them on. During breaks in the game, police officers threw out free t-shirts to students and the school raffled off prizes, including an X-Box 360, with the help of principal Varla Abrams and mascot, the Red Knight.
