Stunt driving charges for April crash
Two motorcycle riders face five charges in near-fatal Yonge-St.Clair incident

Two men are facing stunt driving charges in relation to a motorcycle accident that nearly killed a pedestrian near Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue in April.
Police say the incident, which happened at 5:25 p.m. on April 6, involved two motorcycles driving northbound on Yonge Street approaching Pleasant Boulevard. One of the motorcycles, a Yamaha R6, entered the intersection and was struck by a southbound BMW X3 driven by a 75-year-old man, as it turned left onto eastbound Pleasant Boulevard.
The collision caused the Yamaha R6 and its driver to mount the sidewalk, where the motorcycle hit a 67-year-old woman. She suffered life-threatening injuries and the motorcycle rider suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time of the crash, the incident made headlines for being caught on video by a dashboard camera of another northbound vehicle.
Police have now charged the 29-year-old Yamaha R6 driver, Haytham Markos of Brampton, with dangerous operation causing bodily harm, criminal negligence causing bodily harm, and stunt driving.
The other motorcycle rider, 30-year-old Narciso Castro Gonzales of Ajax, has been charged with dangerous operation and stunt driving.
