Teenager arrested for variety store holdup

19-year-old charged in violent February attack at Luke's Grocery

Police have made an arrest in the violent robbery of Luke’s Grocery and Variety on Logan Avenue four months ago.

Police say that on Feb. 24, two men wearing disguises entered the store and approached the counter. One man pointed a shotgun at owner Paul Kim while demanding money.

Kim was then stabbed after an altercation with the second suspect, resulting in a punctured lung that required surgery.

According to police, the suspects fled empty handed in a stolen vehicle, which was later recovered with the knife inside.

Paul Bonnick, 19, has been charged with robbery while armed with a firearm, disguise with intent, aggravated assault, theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and failure to comply with recognizance. Another suspect remains at large.
