Ward 8 trustee candidate drops out, supports opponent
Claudia Webb now backing Aaron Grinhaus

The field of candidates looking to replace Howard Goodman as trustee for Ward 8 has narrowed, with former teacher Claudia Webb having dropped out and announced her support for another.
Webb said she launched her candidacy because she wanted to make a bigger difference than “being a teacher in a classroom,” but when she realized how much of a trustee’s work takes place in a boardroom she didn’t think she had the professional skillset to do the job.
On Saturday she contacted Aaron Grinhaus, a tax lawyer who was also the first candidate to sign up, and threw her support behind him.
“I think he has the professional skills to be in a boardroom,” she said. “I think he’s in it for the right reasons.
“He’s doing it because he has a daughter in the system … and because he wants to make a difference.”
The deadline to withdraw from the race was Sept. 12, so Webb’s name will remain on the ballot.
