Weekend crash leaves man seriously injured
North Toronto collision sends 58-year-old to hospital
A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a North Toronto crash over the weekend.
Police say a 58-year-old man was driving a 2004 Toyota RAV 4 northbound on Avenue Road and was attempting to make a left turn onto Woburn Avenue when, for reasons as yet unknown, the vehicle suddenly accelerated.
As a result, the Toyota collided with a 2014 Acura RDX heading southbound on Avenue Road, attempting to make a left turn onto Woburn Avenue.
The driver of the Toyota was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 59-year-old male driver of the Acura was not seriously injured.
